Taylor is not currently on tour. However his performance as the Teen Angel in Broadway’s production of Grease was so well-received that when the opportunity was presented to him to continue the role in the touring company version – he accepted.
So, while you may not be able to see/hear Taylor rock it out with his touring band for a time, you can still see him in all his pompadoured glory as the Teen Angel. Bonus: Taylor has said that he will be performing at least one of his own tunes at the end of each show, so this is your chance to get a preview of his new album!
UPDATE: Apparently, Taylor is going to be doing what we on The Boogie Board have dubbed a “Shadow Tour” – i.e. he will be doing sporadic concerts of his own while on the road with Grease. What exactly does this mean in terms of type of concert? I can’t answer that question, but if I had to guess I’d say it will either be acoustic or he will employ local musicians. I’ve known of other bands/performers who do the latter so it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
